My Mum was the most beautiful person I’ve ever met.
The felt guilty that the day she passed away because when I was told that she was gone I felt relieved. She had been fighting the cancer for 3 years and it had finally got the best of her. I was thankful that I wouldn’t have to see her in that state any more and that she was no longer in pain.
In the last week or so her face had changed where the pain was unbearable and the cancer was consuming her. Her eyes had lost her sparkle.
The last time I saw her I didn’t know what to say to her, she was unconscious and heavily sedated. We knew she was going to die soon and I didn’t want to scare her by saying my goodbyes.
I will always remember my last conversation with my Mum we smiled and laughed, I showed her pictures from my holiday and the festival we had been to.
I will never get my Mum back but her laugh and smile will always stay with me.
